Parking Meter Vault Door Specification

Vault Door Lock housing and inner cylinder shall be of machined brass. Lock shall fit without any modifications necessary to the parking meter vault door and parking meter housing; of the Duncan round vault door.

The lock shall provide the highest levels of security and performance, equal to the current UL 437 Standard for Key Locks, Type 1, for maximum resistance to surreptitious and forcing attack; for harsh environmental conditions and material performance for corrosion protection and endurance, as mounted on the parking meter model specified.

The lock cylinder shall have no less than 10 million key combinations, and operational design shall be that of rotating detainer discs, locked in place by a steel locking bar. Key shall be Restricted, Level 2 and cylinder and key system must be U.S. Patent protected. Key combinations code(s) shall not have prior customer assignment and shall be exclusively assigned when issued. Lock cylinder shall retain key in the unlocked position. The cylinder's first exposed rotating detainer disc shall be of case hardened steel, nickel or chrome plated, to resist drilling and other forms of physical attack. No springs shall be utilized in the operation of the lock cylinder. Lock tenon shall be of "Double D" design shape to accept cams of same design, as provided by all major parking meter manufacturers. Cam shall be affixed by a threaded, machined brass nut. A three-fingered locking washer shall be provided to add tightening stability to the brass nut.

Key shall be of nickel silver material, of symmetrical design and must be capable of multi-position insertion into the lock cylinder. Locks must be capable of being rekeyed to a new key combination if keys are lost, or stolen, by a manufacturer factory authorized service center. A minimum of one (1) million key combination codes must be available for each key combination code needing replaced. Lock and keys may be required to be stamped with identification characters, determined at time of purchase.
