Padlock body shall be of solid machined case hardened steel, chrome plated. Padlock shackle shall be 10mm thick case hardened boron steel, chrome plated. Shackle shall measure 25mm in length for locked clearance to padlock body. Lock and shackle shall have a resistance to surreptitious entry to Grade 6, resistance to shackle cutting and pulling to Grade 6, resistance to cylinder pulling and torque to Grade 6 and resistance to corrosion and harsh environmental conditions to Grade 6, ASTM standard F883-97.

Locking mechanism shall be of a toe-in-heel locking system with dead locking function, locked by a stainless steel ball bearing at each shackle leg. Cylinder shall have no less than 100 million key combinations, and operational design shall be that of rotating detainer discs, locked in place by a steel locking bar. Key shall be Restricted, Level 2 and cylinder and key system must be a U.S. Patent protected. Key combination code(s) shall not have prior customer assignment and shall be exclusively assigned when issued. Padlock shall retain key in unlocked position. Padlock cylinder shall be protected by chrome plated, case hardened steel plug cover, flush mounted and shall be tamper resistant. The cylinder's first exposed rotating disc shall be of case hardened steel, nickel or chrome plated, to resist drilling and other forms of physical attack. No springs shall be utilized in the lock cylinder's operation, or in the unlocking or locking function of the shackle. Manufacturer shall provide a lifetime functional warranty for the specified padlock.

Key shall be of nickel silver material, of symmetrical design and must be capable of multi-position insertion into the lock cylinder. Padlock must be capable of being rekeyed to a new key combination code if keys are lost or stolen, by a manufacturer factory authorized service center. A minimum of one (1) million key combination codes must be available for each key combination code needing replaced. Padlock and keys may be required to be stamped with identification characters, determined at time of purchase. Abloy Model PL340/25E, or equal.
